Interviewing Monica Mills
Monica Mills, 31, is an artist based in Prague. She is the director of the documentary "Lavender Girls", based on lesbian representation in the 21st century cinema.
"Doing my first live with someone who is interested in my work as an artist and as a writer is not only flattering, but gives hope and some validation. I love to create and I do it for myself, but when you hear words of praise and encouragement it helps feel like I made a few good choices in my life!
It was super fun to come up with a haiku on the spot (Listen Alexa, to what I say look iPad, find your old notebook) though rather challenging. And I am so grateful to share some positivity about creativity after the last two years of struggle with the pandemic and severe isolation. I hope that the fake scenario about living in a world with no art never comes true, but if it did get wiped off the planet, I have faith in humans that we would start to create something as it's impossible to live without art."
